Euthanasia for Pets

Losing a pet is one of the hardest things to experience. Our vets will be here for you and your pet during this difficult stage. Please let us know what you need and anything we can do to help. Don’t ever hesitate to contact us at 403-615-8016 if you are concerned your pet is coming to the end of their life or if you are struggling with the loss of a pet.

Note: We also offer at-home euthanasia services.

What are the benefits of at-home euthanasia?

Home euthanasia allows your pet to pass peacefully in the comfort of their home with family and other pets around them. It allows you to say goodbye in the safe space of your home.

What happens during home euthanasia?

First, our vets will examine your pet to assess their condition. When you are ready to say goodbye, the vet will administer a sedative and pain relief followed by a euthanasia injection or barbiturate overdose to allow them to transition peacefully.

What other types of euthanasia services do you offer?

Our services include the following:

  • Examination/consultation to assist you in making the best decision
  • Quality of life assessments
  • In-clinic and in-home euthanasia
  • Cremation referrals
  • In-clinic memorial and urn items

What happens after my pet is euthanized?

You are given as much time as you need to say your goodbyes. We can then transport your pet to a crematorium and return their remains to you. Many pet parents like a keepsake of their pets, so we carry specialized urns, memorial products, charms, and pendants.
